How to Create A Website for Profit offers some tips for those contemplating making money through writing websites.

You're a web writer and you're making good money writing for others. You realize that if others can pay you to produce content, this means that they're making money online, and you wonder whether you can do the same.

Yes, you can.

You can create a site within a couple of minutes. Of course, the more technical expertise you have, the better. However, the content of any site you create is much more important than the platform.

Let's look at how you can quickly create a website for profit.

1. Focus on Your Interests: What's Fun for You?

Websites have topics. So your first step is to decide on a topic for your site. Start by thinking about what your interests are.

Your interests may include (as mine do): cooking, photography, health, beauty, and celebrity gossip.

Write down your own interests, and then visit your favorite search engine and find websites and blogs created for those topics.

2. Is Your Niche Profitable? How Many Magazines Are There?

There are many ways of calculating how profitable or otherwise a particular niche, or topic, maybe. The simplest way is just to to find out whether there are any magazines which serve this particular audience.

For example, there are many cooking, photography, health and beauty magazines. And of course celebrity gossip magazines abound.

Since magazines depend on advertisers for their existence, you know that if a magazine is created around a particular topic, then you can create a website on this topic with confidence. (Advertisers spend money.)

When you're creating your first website for profit, please don't over-think this process. Your first site will teach you a lot. This experience is valuable, and it's something you can't learn by reading about it. You have to toss the dice and do it.

3. Don't Sweat the Details: Get Your Website Online Fast

Choose a topic which interests you, and for which you know that magazines or even a single magazine exists. Research websites which have already been created on this particular topic.

Then decide on a slant. A slant is your own special approach to the topic. For example if you decide that your website will be in the health niche, and more specifically in the childhood nutrition niche, your slant may be "healthy cooking for children".

Once you've decided on a slant, go to a site like Blogger and just create a blog with your slant as the title.

There you go -- you've just created your first website for profit. Now you can put your web writing expertise to good use.
