When to add Google Adsense to your website

Many people build websites for the purpose of earning some extra income, and the easiest way to do that is to add Google Adsense to their sites. But when is the best time to add Google Adsense to your website?

Many established webmaster advises not to add Google Adsense until you have gotten a sufficient amount of traffic. The reasons for doing this is, many newbie webmasters become so obsessed with their Adsense earnings that they focus more on trying to earn with Adsense than with actually building their sites.

Although the above reasoning may be true of some people, I would say that most people have better discipline than that. For that reason, I would encourage newbies to add Adsense to their websites as soon as Google would allow them to have an account. As soon as you have Adsense on your page, you can start earning money from the web, so there is no reason to let even a day pass without the opportunity to earn.

To get your Adsense account approved, you need to submit your website for review. To prepare your site for that, make sure your site is reasonably complete. If it is only a homepage and nothing else, it is unlikely to be approved by Google anyway.

As soon as you got your website approved, go ahead and add Adsense to it. After that, immediately develop a disease called "clickphobia". Do not click your Adsense ads, do not even look at it, and by all means, do not tell anybody to click the ads. The day Adsense is added to your website is the day you stop clicking on Adsense ads. From then onwards, your focus is to build as many pages as you possibly can.

To track the performance of your website, sign up for Google Analytics as well. Ensure that you use the same email address to register for both Adsense and Analytics, so that you can link the two. By all means, check your Adsense performance from time to time. I find that it gives me a boost whenever I see a record earning, which in turn provides me the incentive and passion to build more pages. As your Adsense earnings grow, you will see a new record breaking the old quite regularly, and before you know it, you would be surprised at how much you are earning with Adsense.
